God Provides (Exodus 15:22-17:7)

There are a series of God’s provisions: the waters of Mara (15:22–27); the manna (16:1–36); water at Refidim (17:1–7). It also includes a miraculous victory over Amalek (17:8–16). These are all extraordinary, but the reality is that Israel has only just begun their journey. It takes them about three months (19:1) to get to Mount Horeb (Sinai), which means they had reached the end of the provisions they had taken with them from Egypt at this point.
