As we leave narrative behind and get into legal codes, the first thing we see is a set of laws concerning slavery. This is a fiercely debated subject (and rightly so) because we all agree that slavery, as we understand it, is morally wrong. Why does God provide rules for slavery, and what does it really tells us about his relationship to the world?
