Without Error—The Question of Inerrancy (Proverbs 21:1-31, Job 1:5)

Erik DiVietroErik DiVietro, 22 January, 2017
Part of the The Bible: What It Is and Why It Matters series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

The Bible: What It Is and Why It Matters, part 4.

ADD Fact Check 1: A number of ancient cosmologies proposed the idea of a flat earth, in various fascinating shapes and situations. (Sad fact: I (DW) have interacted with more than one modern human who believes the earth is flat, and that all images or video showing otherwise are falsified. Don't even get me started on the geocentrists ...)

ADD Fact Check 2: Darwin used the term "natural selection." "Survival of the fittest," was used by Herbert Spencer in 1864, after reading Charles Darwin's On the Origin of Species. In his Principles of Biology. Spencer drew parallels between his own economic theories and Darwin's biological ones: "This survival of the fittest, which I have here sought to express in mechanical terms, is that which Mr. Darwin has called 'natural selection', or the preservation of favoured races in the struggle for life."
